After starting 2021 off quietly, the new normal in film activity at this time of the year gave HollyNorth time to be ready for the full return of productions in the new year.
(An extended tape aisle and new displays in the showroom to make social distancing room are some of the recent in store changes.)
As a result of the pandemic, the adjustments in the film industry have hit many businesses hard, so now more than ever it is important to source your supplies locally and support small businesses. After closing down for several months from late March to mid June of last year, we were fortunate enough to re-open with a new store layout, lots of PPE products and appropriate protocols to safely serve our customers. Being able to keep our team together upon our return was a luxury that we were privileged to be able to do thanks to the quick recovery of productions, so all of our team is here to help!
We’ve seen so many new film projects arrive in BC, record numbers in fact. In 2021, the film industry in BC is expected to continue in full force, supported by the wide range of talents, services and infrastructure here. The stability and talent of our labour force, tax credits, the attractive Canadian dollar and our industry leading safety protocols combine to keep BC attractive for productions. To support the increase in filming, we’re doing our part by sourcing and stocking the essential things that film productions need on a regular basis. We are also experts at finding special products, recommending other service providers and being a hub of information and contacts, so if you don’t see it, please ask us! Watch this space for many new products coming your way from HollyNorth!
